HISTORY

The Westside Waldorf School began 1989 as the "Waldorf School of Santa Monica". The intention to create the school began in the hearts of parents who sought the very best
education for their children. They joined and initiated a study to assess a broader interest for Waldorf education. A positive outcome spurned them to create the nucleus
of the school and recruit Waldorf teachers for Nursery and Kindergarten groups. Soon thereafter they formed the necessary non-profit entity, creating the "Westside Waldorf School".
As the children reached school age, the teachers and board deemed the time right to lead the school into the future by adding grades. Again in 2002 they were ready to expand
beyond the 6th Grade to include a full middle school and are working towards fulfilling a future dream of developing a highschool. The school has since graduated three more
6th Grade classes. Our graduates populate several local middle schools, private and public like Highland Hall, Archer, and Windward, among others.
