Part-Time Block Teaching

The Westside Waldorf School in Pacific Palisades, California, is seeking a warm, dynamic and experienced teacher to teach woodworking in 4th through 8th grades starting immediately. This is a part-time position and will include weekly teaching in 8-week block cycles. The candidate will have experience with woodworking skills, ideally familiarity with the Waldorf curriculum, teaching experience. As a predominantly outdoor classroom setting for the woodwork classes, strong classroom management skills are essential.

Westside Waldorf School's main campus is nestled between the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. We are fortunate to have both the ocean and the local state park within easy walking access for class outings and learning opportunities. In addition to our full grades 1-8 program, we have four Nurseries, four Kindergartens, and two Parent-Child Programs. Our school enjoys not only a healthy enrollment, but also a diverse community made up of families, experienced teachers, and staff members with a wide variety of life experiences and geographic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Our graduates successfully transfer to a wide variety of both local and out of area high schools. We enjoy a full Grades Program that includes Eurythmy, Spanish, Japanese, Handwork, Woodwork, Strings, Music, Games, Middle School Math track and Gardening classes. We also provide After-School Sports and an Enriched Aftercare Program.

Westside Waldorf School is AWSNA Accredited and has been a full member with WECAN since 2009.
Requirements
Waldorf training desirable

Previous teaching experience in Grades 4-8
