Parent Volunteer Work

Parent connections to the School are deepened, and families’ experience of the education is enlivened when families participate in School events, on committees, or help with various aspects of School life. As members of the Westside Waldorf School community, families commit themselves annually to volunteer service to the School. The annual service requirement is 20 hours per parent/guardian or 40 hours per family.

There are many channels through which parents may participate at Westside Waldorf School, including:

  • Crafting/Artistic/Creative
  • Building & Grounds Maintenance (including classroom laundry, flower fairy etc.)
  • Event Set-Up/Tear Down
  • Costume Design/Maintenance
  • Student Supervision
  • Hospitality
  • Gala Volunteer
  • Games & Athletics
  • General Organization
  • In-Classroom Volunteer (e.g. class chaperone, reading group helper etc.)
  • Parent Education Event Attendance
  • Workshop Attendance
  • Community Outreach
  • Committee participation
